Birthday Cupcakes – The Hottest Trend in Birthday Celebrations!

Imagine the squeals of delight you’ll hear from the friends of your little one when they see the table loaded with birthday cupcakes instead of the usual tried-and-true standard sheet cake!  Gone are the days of those Barney shaped pans decorated in an almost paint-by-number way.  Enter the new, chic world of cupcakes.

Picture this: individual cupcakes arranged in a pattern that fits the theme of your child’s party.  Whether it’s a dinosaur, a doll, a flower or anything in-between, you can arrange the cupcakes in that particular design and frost them like you would a regular cake.  When cake eating time comes, you simply separate the cupcakes and voila, ready-made individual servings.

Another popular trend in birthday cupcakes is to take your child’s theme and make each individual cupcake different based on the theme.  For example, if you’re having a pirate themed party, you could have a cupcake with skull and crossbones, another with an eye patch, or two swords crossed.  If you’re going for the ever-popular-princess theme, adorn your cupcakes with tiaras, rings, miniature princesses piped on with royal icing or even castles.  Your little princess will be ecstatic when she sees all the varieties you’ve created especially for her!

Birthday cupcakes aren’t just for the youngsters either!  Imagine hosting an over-the-hill party and baking 40 cupcakes with individual candles in each one.  Watch the old guy huff and puff as he tries to blow out all of those candles!  And, if you have an even older person with a great sense of humor about their age, why not go for broke and bake 80 cupcakes for a memorable birthday experience?

Birthday cupcakes aren’t just for parties.  If you want to create a memorable experience for your child, set aside their birthday to do special things with them, including allowing them to help you with making their cake—cupcake style of course!  Let them choose the flavors for the cupcakes and theme too.  Either find a recipe to make cupcakes from scratch or bake some straight from good old Betty Crocker’s box.  Decorate them liberally with lots of frosting!  Remember, it’s not about how perfect the cupcakes look; it’s about giving your child a memorable birthday.  And, you never know, you may even spawn a new annual tradition and, in the process, save yourself a lot of dough on those under-appreciated, over-rated kid’s birthday parties!

You just can’t go wrong with whatever you choose for your birthday cupcakes project!  After all, birthdays are fun and when you throw in a cupcake and it’s double the fun!
