Secret Tips for Entering a Figure Contest

So, you are planning to enter your first figure competition.  The exhilaration itself can drive you to great lengths.  But, after the mental rush is over you need to decide how you will prepare for your figure competition.  To help guide you down the right path I am going to disclose 3 secrets of figure contest prep.

The initial secret is to do your homework.  What does that mean?  Well, what doing your figure contest groundwork implies is go to a few local figure contests to see what it’s all about.

By being present at a figure competition you will get to actually see the figure competitors walk on stage and compete.  This alone is exciting!  The figure competition is separated into two portions; pre-judging and the evening show.  Pre-judging is where the actual decision making occurs and the evening show is entertainment segment.

I highly suggest attending both events.  During pre-judging, take notes of the figure athletes build and appearance.  Bring along a camera or video so you can study them later.

Another secret is to have a minimum of a complete year of weight training under your belt prior to dieting down for your figure contest.  This is critically important because even though it is a figure contest, a proper muscle core is needed.  Countless newbie figure athletes blindly compete without a proper muscle base created and end up not placing.

A decent off-season exercise split can involve working each muscle group four to five times weekly along with some light cardio mixed in.  As you begin to diet down bump up your training to five to six times weekly and increase your cardio some.

Your figure prep diet is the last secret.  A huge error most newbies make as they begin their figure competition diet is that they hop in with both feet, meaning they go from eating a normal diet to cutting calories far below what their body requires.

A smarter approach to your figure competition diet is to ease into it progressively.  Cut out the evident junk food well ahead of time.  After a few weeks figure out how many calories YOUR body needs to shed fat.  The closer you get to your competition the more strict your diet should be.  Read food labels and be sure to steer clear of processed and refined products that cause fat gain and be cautious of concealed sugars in food products.

Competing in a figure competition is a practice of learning how to arrange and applying the proper techniques to make the body transformation.  I suggest checking out “Figure Competition Secrets.”  It’s THE proven figure competition prep system used by IFBB figure pros, guaranteed to have you ready and even show you how to win your figure competition.  And, the fabulous thing is, it’s PERFECT for the newbie.  Hurry, check it out at http://www.FigureCompetitionSecrets.com
